S-Bahn Vienna Upgrade

The eastern region is the region with the highest population growth in Austria. In order to keep pace with this growth, the public transport offer must also be expanded. With the " S-Bahn Vienna Upgrade", routes, structures and rail infrastructure in and around Vienna are being comprehensively modernised.

Measures on four routes

In addition to the modernisation and digitalisation of the so-called "S-Bahn Vienna Core Line" between Vienna Meidling and Vienna Floridsdorf, measures are also being implemented along the northern line, the north-western line and the southern line in order to bring more commuters quickly and comfortably to the federal capital.

In the inner city, numerous renovation and modernisation measures are being carried out on the popular S-Bahn Vienna core line between Vienna Meidling and Vienna Floridsdorf.

In Lower Austria, on the adjacent north-western line from Vienna to Unterretzbach, the northern line between Süßenbrunn and Gänserndorf and on the southern line from Vienna to Payerbach-Reichenau, platforms are being extended and new stabling and turning facilities are being created.
